What promises to be a perfect cottage for our holiday that is! :-)
Two weeks in the Autumn near Bakewell in the Derbyshire countryside. Ahhh.... my two favourite areas of England, Derbyshire/Peak District and any part of Yorkshire, so it had to be one or the other. And, with it being Bakewell, we'll be close to Chatsworth which is my most favouritest (lol) stately home in the land. Can't wait to get back!
The 'cottage' looks like a little square castle and was a nurseryman's bothy 150 years ago. The pictures of the inside are really lovely and it has a glowing log burning stove, a sheltered roof terrace in addition to the garden area for alfresco dining (weather permitting), and is pretty much off on it's own with lots of trees and views across the Derwent Valley. I am SO looking forward to being back in Derbyshire. In my opinion, England's very own little piece of Heaven. Now if I could only make the calendar move that little bit faster for a time. Funny that - normally trying to slow it down!
The snow has finally all melted which is nice considering it's nearly April! I love the stuff, but much closer to Christmas and only for a few days. It was really a surreal few days here on the coast weather wise.
OK, I'm off now to finish the day's laundry, await Tesco's arrival and think about making some rolls. 50% wholewheat - 50% seeded white sounds good to me. You? Maybe just one small batch of biccies too? Sure, no prob. :-D
I've added the iTunes widget to my sidebar, nifty little gizmo - really haven't paid much attention to widgets available for the sidebar - judging from the last post date, I haven't been paying much attention to my Vox at all lately. **significant slap on the wrists** Although the 'domestic' period is waning ever so slightly, it still continues and I believe it has a lot to do with the weather. For whatever reason, when it's rainy/chilly/grey domestication kicks in. Could be some sort of character quirk, lol.
I've spent all of this morning and part of the afternoon backing up the Vaio and the most important folder on the Vaio, my iTunes folder :-) . It's been ages since I've done a proper and thorough back up and I know the adage about that's when "things" will go wrong . . . so I was one of the lucky ones and have actually gotten a complete back up done BEFORE a crisis! I feel so smug, so superior, so . . . so . . . prepared. With many thanks to Good Sync.
Now the rest of the afternoon (after some catch-up with the 'hood) will be spent transferring my feeds out of Bloglines and into/onto Netvibes. I have had an account there for quite some time now and haven't done anything with it, so think I'll give it a try and see if it would be worth switching over permanently. Only time will tell.
And . . . before I go, a video telling exactly why YOU should be backing up as soon as you've finished reading this. The Eric Tiptons of the world are many . . . it's only a matter of time! **evil, evil laugh**
