Another beautiful day out, and I've been inside doing the 'domestic' thing. :-( Had to be done, things just don't get dusted/cooked/ironed/washed/sorted/straightened or binned sitting outside in the sunshine. Did get a nice meal made though, and used a lot of herbs from BH's herb garden. He's got quite the variety growing now along with some lettuce and strawberries. I'm doing the flowers and he's doing the food, fair I think. :-) Now the clouds are starting to bunch up and get a bit darker so guess I'll be in this afternoon too. Which is okay, The Mac's innards are just about due a spring clean.
Time to go through the totally out of hand and waaayy too numerous bookmarks in FF and Safari, bin ones that don't interest me anymore or I've no idea why I saved in the first place and then re-sort the rest. Also there needs to be a cull online of beta's I've signed up for (because I've just GOT to try everything that comes along) . On average, I'd say that out of 10 beta's I try, I'm still using one in 3-6 months time. Of those, I'd imagine that fewer than 5% are still in use in a years time. So, cull it is!
The Mummy-in-law just dropped by a lovely piece of carrot cake and two cream cake thingys from their outing at a garden center (this one just happens, sheer coincidence I'm certain, to have a very nice cafe too). I am such a lucky girl! Most are usually single layer, this one is two layers with tons of lovely frosting! Mmmm....
I've also decided to redo the still very new "other blog" and get it off of Blogger. So I'll be spending some time getting to know RapidWeaver and trying to get everything set up for the move. "Other" will be foodie and everything else goes on Vox or Tumblr. That brings to mind another cull that is sorely needed - downloaded demo programs. I've got quite a few on here now that were free to try for a variety of time, and now it's time to get the ones that I haven't purchased and don't intend to, off. So if we do have a couple of rainy days like they seem to think we will, I've got lots of work sorted out to do!
And this is a slight improvement from yesterday :-( I like my desk to be neat and this is driving me looney. Well, more looney than I am naturally. There are magazines that have been read and articles I want to check on the net (usually I just jot down a url in a notepad, but couldn't be bothered the last few days), printoffs from pre-illness that are still waiting to be dealt with, the camera was waiting to be unloaded to the iPhoto, Wii ditty's to enter online, the iPod is wanting sync, leftover planning material for the holiday, recipes waiting to be entered into Yum, a book or two waiting to be added to LibraryThing, a letter from "my Monk" that needs a reply (yes, a handwritten one, imagine that) and various bits that I'm still trying to remember exactly why I kept them.
One off the Lumix:
It's a bit chilly, not too bad really, but grey and gloomy and damp and . . . . you get the picture.
Have to go out for a little while this afternoon, but other than that I'm in for the day. I've got Saturday Kitchen on the telly and will get a loaf started and then begin filling the two binders purchased yesterday. One is for recipes that I rip out of magazines and newspapers. I've gotten some index tabs and plan on getting them all organized and then find some new ones to try out and get the results posted on Macs 'n' Meals. I've always collected recipes and atm they are just sort of stuffed into box in no particluar order so that when I think of something that I've saved, I end up rooting through the whole box looking for it.
The other binder is for Mac stuff. The Mac magazines, especially iCreate, have wonderful tutorial articles on how to do numerous things plus tips, tricks and little know facts (at least to we newbies) and I'm saving the best of those and putting them in the binder and into catagories according to the program or function they relate to. The hope is that when I'm tinkering around in . . . . say . . . . Pixelmator, I can get the binder out and under the "Photo" section have a look and see what new and glorious thing I can do with Pixelmator. Or find help with some trouble before venturing onto the forums and posting.
Sounds good in theory, we'll see how it all works out.
I think Market Kitchen is repeated around lunchtime, so I'll no doubt have that on in the background as I struggle through this organizational frenzy. Note that how, at a certain age *ahem*, doing two things in the same day constitutes a frenzy. :-D

Was doing my weekly - okay, daily (at least it's not hourly!) - check up on the progress of Leopard and the MacWorld UK site always brings a smile with it's MSN Search on site pop-ups. Just 'cuz I can, I always have to hover over the "Mac" bits just so the MSN Live Search can ask me if I'd like to "Discover more about Apple Computers . . ." You can see the pop-up searchbox best if you view in full size and then click on the pic to zoom in.
What do you have, what do you need and what do you want?
Everything anyone really needs - and so much more / nothing that I don't already have / inner peace . . . . and a 15in MacBook Pro when Leopard is ready to roll (Arrghh! I'm hopeless!!) ;-)
More than likely it was all there before the decision, but for some reason it all seems funnelled toward me now! What makes matters even worse is that even if I had the cash on me now, I wouldn't buy one . . . yet. You know, the rumours. I've got to wait for Leopard, which from what I've read lately, won't be seen until October! October?!! Yes, I know I could go ahead and buy the Mac and then purchase the upgrade when it's available. But - what about all those other lovely rumours about what maaay be upgraded or tweaked (hardware wise) by the time Leopard is released?
I know that, especially with Apple, I could be waiting forever while they tease me with the 'next big thing' be it hardware or software, and in doing so not only have severe anxiety attacks at the mention of Mac, but end up missing out on what I firmly believe will be " all the fun ". So, atm , the timeline is something like this: Save,Save,Save - Leopard released in October (Ooo! Birthday month! Coincidence? I think not!) - give the Almighty Apple another 60 days to add some whatsits and a couple of thingamajigs, just in case - and then (all gods, deities and gnomes willing) I too will be come one of them.
