I've started the laundry off and just juiced a couple of wonderful large Navel oranges (by hand - mind you, I am so very tempted to get a citrus press, which I've always thought 'looked nice'), ran the Sebo through the lounge, updated the podcasts in iTunes and got a pan of stock goodies going.
I had roasted a chicken yesterday afternoon, part of which is/was for 2 nights tea (warm chicken on buttered rolls w/salt & pepper last night........Mmmmm) and part for dinner tomorrow. Stuck the bones & bits in the fridge last night then plopped into a pan with carrot, onion, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic this morning and atm it's simmering away nicely now, making the whole place smell very tasty. :-) I'll let it go on very slowly for hours.
Next up is to get the small stereo out of the bedroom. We (I say 'we', but I think that BH may simply "put up with" my need for noise at bedtime) like to have something quiet/ambient playing to fall asleep to and since we bought the Quattro the stereo has been made redundant. It is nice to have the option to play a CD, but that's not really needed either as the Quattro will stream from any computer so . . . the stereo goes! Hahaha, think I just had to convince myself! I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys radio to have a look at some of the many new internet radios out there. Wireless (as in network) radio from most any country you can think of (last night there were more than 10,000) stations available) in most any genre you can think of. Last nights pick was "Music For The Space Traveler" - right up our street for sleep-time.
Make up a pasta bake for dinner today along with some nice steamed veggies to go with, then after dinner (we try to have our main meal at 'noon') I'll have a catch-up on my Vox neighbourhood and try and get a post on Macs 'n' Meals about the blogging software I've been trying out - the free demo periods are coming to an end so I'm going to have to make a decision soon!
So I'm off, freshly squeezed OJ in hand, to the bedroom to give the stereo the bad news . . . then what to do with it.
It's been busy as of late. Well, I don't know if it's busy as much as scatterbrained, which tends to make one think they're busy ;-)
I've settled my Mac addled brain finally, once and for all. As much as I've gone on and on about wanting a MacBook Pro, I've decided on one of the new iMacs. After seeing one up close and personal I was totally smitten. I just cannot justify the cost of the MacBook Pro when I'm really, honestly not very interested in portability. All summer, I can't think of more than about 3 times I had the Vaio outside. When going on holiday I never, never take the notebook as it's one of the things I'm happy (for a period of time) to get away from. BH always takes his so that we have something to offload photos from our cameras to, and we just don't 'do' the internet on holiday. With the iMac I'm able to afford more memory (4GB!)and a much larger hard drive (750GB!), and still pay less. I really like the idea of the iMac's "all in one" concept and it just looks soooo lovely! For me at least, the main selling point of the MB Pro is portability . . . something I just don't need, or really want. And to share my joy with you all, I'll photo op it's arrival/unpacking when it gets here. I'm hoping to order in the next week or so and will be on needles and pins until it shows up, lol.
I've been neglecting lots of things in my 'scatterbrained' state of late. There's the forum that I'm meant to be creating for a website I'm part of, I've probably spent a whole 4 hours on that with about 40 more needed from what I can tell. There's the dusting that's taken a back seat lately. Our bedroom has two sets of glass shelving (4 shelves each) and the dust is thick enough to give them a decent 'snow covered' effect. Ewwwww...... I did, however, get the 2 freezers defrosted last week - so a star on my chart!
I simply cannot stand it one more minute, I'm off to Apple UK to claim my iMac! Details to follow. Somehow I don't think you've heard the end of this just yet **very, VERY big grin**
