I say complete because it had been over a week now that I've had the Vaio 'put away' and not had to open it for anything. It's been a much smoother process than I could have ever imagined, I'm not sure what I thought it would be like, no doubt a lot more hassle and headache than it really turned out to be. I would recommend it HIGHLY to anyone with the least bit of computer experience under their belt. Macdom is quite simply, lovely.
Here are the photos I promised (what now, nearly two weeks ago? - Hey, I've been busy, lol) Of course, they don't do justice to the overwhelming feeling of 'Ahhh' that came with the iMac's arrival and you can't hear the chorus of ethereal voices that I heard when the delivery guy showed up at the door, but I think you can probably get the general gist. ;-)
First off is the iMac's new mascot - named, aptly enough, MacKenzie. Given by BH to mark and celebrate the day!
Off for a bit of bread baking and a coffee!

AAAAGGGGGHHHH!
lol
It's been busy as of late. Well, I don't know if it's busy as much as scatterbrained, which tends to make one think they're busy ;-)
I've settled my Mac addled brain finally, once and for all. As much as I've gone on and on about wanting a MacBook Pro, I've decided on one of the new iMacs. After seeing one up close and personal I was totally smitten. I just cannot justify the cost of the MacBook Pro when I'm really, honestly not very interested in portability. All summer, I can't think of more than about 3 times I had the Vaio outside. When going on holiday I never, never take the notebook as it's one of the things I'm happy (for a period of time) to get away from. BH always takes his so that we have something to offload photos from our cameras to, and we just don't 'do' the internet on holiday. With the iMac I'm able to afford more memory (4GB!)and a much larger hard drive (750GB!), and still pay less. I really like the idea of the iMac's "all in one" concept and it just looks soooo lovely! For me at least, the main selling point of the MB Pro is portability . . . something I just don't need, or really want. And to share my joy with you all, I'll photo op it's arrival/unpacking when it gets here. I'm hoping to order in the next week or so and will be on needles and pins until it shows up, lol.
I've been neglecting lots of things in my 'scatterbrained' state of late. There's the forum that I'm meant to be creating for a website I'm part of, I've probably spent a whole 4 hours on that with about 40 more needed from what I can tell. There's the dusting that's taken a back seat lately. Our bedroom has two sets of glass shelving (4 shelves each) and the dust is thick enough to give them a decent 'snow covered' effect. Ewwwww...... I did, however, get the 2 freezers defrosted last week - so a star on my chart!
I simply cannot stand it one more minute, I'm off to Apple UK to claim my iMac! Details to follow. Somehow I don't think you've heard the end of this just yet **very, VERY big grin**

Was doing my weekly - okay, daily (at least it's not hourly!) - check up on the progress of Leopard and the MacWorld UK site always brings a smile with it's MSN Search on site pop-ups. Just 'cuz I can, I always have to hover over the "Mac" bits just so the MSN Live Search can ask me if I'd like to "Discover more about Apple Computers . . ." You can see the pop-up searchbox best if you view in full size and then click on the pic to zoom in.
What do you have, what do you need and what do you want?
Everything anyone really needs - and so much more / nothing that I don't already have / inner peace . . . . and a 15in MacBook Pro when Leopard is ready to roll (Arrghh! I'm hopeless!!) ;-)
According to Think Secret, Apple has placed orders for over 100,000 15.4 inch LED backlight displays for delivery mid-May. This, they point out, would coincide quite nicely with the WWDC keynote by Jobs.
I am still being very patient, waiting for Leopards release and to see what other wonders/goodies will be available on the MacBook Pros just around Christmas time.
Patient.
Very, very patient.
Happily - very, very, very patient.
(Just in case Santa should be watching)
More than likely it was all there before the decision, but for some reason it all seems funnelled toward me now! What makes matters even worse is that even if I had the cash on me now, I wouldn't buy one . . . yet. You know, the rumours. I've got to wait for Leopard, which from what I've read lately, won't be seen until October! October?!! Yes, I know I could go ahead and buy the Mac and then purchase the upgrade when it's available. But - what about all those other lovely rumours about what maaay be upgraded or tweaked (hardware wise) by the time Leopard is released?
I know that, especially with Apple, I could be waiting forever while they tease me with the 'next big thing' be it hardware or software, and in doing so not only have severe anxiety attacks at the mention of Mac, but end up missing out on what I firmly believe will be " all the fun ". So, atm , the timeline is something like this: Save,Save,Save - Leopard released in October (Ooo! Birthday month! Coincidence? I think not!) - give the Almighty Apple another 60 days to add some whatsits and a couple of thingamajigs, just in case - and then (all gods, deities and gnomes willing) I too will be come one of them.
Woes of Apple, iTunes and pods on DM1.
There's something to be said for a bit of a pause after the hype of the latest and greatest!
